The Powerful Daily Dhikr That Frees 100 Slaves and Protects From Shaytan
Introduction
In our busy lives, we often forget that small daily actions can bring immense rewards from Allah ﷻ. Among these is a short but powerful dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that the Prophet ﷺ described as being better than freeing one hundred slaves and as a shield from Shaytan for the entire day.
Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.
There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and all praise, and He has power over all things.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever says:
(There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and praise, and He has power over all things),
one hundred times in a day will have a reward equivalent to freeing one hundred slaves, one hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, one hundred sins will be erased, and it will be a protection for him from Shaytan that day until evening. No one will come with something better than what he has done except someone who did more.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 3293; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2691)
Explanation and Benefits
🕊 Reward of Freeing 100 Slaves – In the time of the Prophet ﷺ, freeing a slave was among the greatest acts of charity and mercy. Imagine earning the reward of freeing 100 every day — without wealth or effort.
🌿 Forgiveness and Reward – Allah records 100 good deeds and erases 100 sins — a daily cleansing for the believer’s heart and record.
🛡 Protection from Shaytan – The Prophet ﷺ promised that this dhikr acts as a spiritual shield against the whispers and harm of Shaytan from morning till evening.
💫 Ease and Simplicity – It takes only a few minutes each day, yet its impact is beyond measure.
How to Practice
Recite this dhikr 100 times each morning and each evening (after Fajr and after Asr or Maghrib).
You can divide it into portions (e.g., 25 after each Salah).
Reflect on its meaning as you recite — acknowledge Allah’s oneness, power, and mercy.
Reflection
This dhikr is a daily reminder of Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) and our dependence on Him. In times of hardship, fear, or temptation, repeating it brings tranquility to the heart and strength to the soul.
Conclusion
In a world full of distractions, take a few minutes daily to recite:
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
It is a treasure from Jannah, a shield from Shaytan, and a key to immense rewards — all from the mercy of Allah ﷻ.
